As ear plug fit testing continues to gain momentum and practice in occupational hearing conservation programs, safety professionals face several challenges in implementing a successful fit testing program. Such challenges include selecting the appropriate fit testing technology; scheduling workers for tests; evaluating fit test results (Personal Attenuating Ratings); and applying the results as a meaningful safety metric.
